What does the HHH SEPTA do?

Half Hollow Hills Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) was chartered on July 29, 2014. SEPTA is a district-wide organization designed to support parents and caregivers of students with individual learning styles and special needs students including students with 504 plans or general level building support.

Our primary function is advocacy and support for children, teachers, and families of special needs students from preschool through age 21.  Everyone is welcome at our meetings.

SEPTA hopes to encourage a true sense of community and understanding about the importance of becoming an informed advocate for both parent and child.  HHH SEPTA hopes to provide opportunities for more parents to become active PTA volunteers within the HHH community strengthening the home and school relationship.

In less then 5 years HHH SEPTA with the support of the community, families and HHH staff has brought to fruition:
  • Training and guest speakers to help families receive more information on a variety of topics
  • Makers Fair for the communtiy
  • Scholarships for graduating special education students
  • Shining Star Award given to every lifeskills student finishing their HHH education
This January, HHH SEPTA sponsored a conference with Mr. Pete Wright from Wrightslaw! We thank Mr. Wright for educating those who are interested in Special Education Law!
